
NOTICE OF THE 2026 PRIMARY ELECTION
MARSHALL COUNTY, STATE OF IOWA
Notice is hereby given to the qualified electors of the County of Marshall, State of Iowa, that the Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. The Polls for said election will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Please read this notice carefully to determine your correct voting location. If you are unsure of your voting location for the election, please contact the Marshall County Auditor/Recorder & Commissioner of Elections at 641-754-6302 or by e-mail election@marshallcountyia.gov. You may also verify the voting location for your home address at https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/voterreg/pollingplace/search.aspx. Precinct Maps and Sample ballots are available on our website https://elections.marshallcountyia.gov/
Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered – such as voters registering to vote on Election Day – and voters changing precincts must also provide proof of residence. A voter who is unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residence if required) 1) may have the voter’s identity/residence attested to by another registered voter in the precinct, 2) prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents, or 3) cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the county auditor’s office by Noon on Monday, June 8, 2026. Election Day Registrant attesters must provide an approved form of identification. VOTER ACCESSIBILITY
Any voter who is physically unable to enter a polling place has the right to vote in the voter’s vehicle. For further information, please contact the Marshall County Auditor’s office at (641)754-6302 or by e-mail at election@marshallcountyia.gov For TTY access, dial 711 + 641-754-6302
All voting sites are fully accessible to people with physical disabilities. Each polling place has a voter assist ballot marking device which allows people with disabilities to vote independently. Voters may also choose another person to assist them to vote, except their employer, employer’s agent, or an officer or agent of the voter’s union.
Special paper ballots will be used. A list of all Offices and Candidates is published as a part of this notice. Voters will see Federal, State and County Offices.
ABSENTEE VOTING
Voters may cast an absentee ballot at the Election Center during office hours until Monday, June 1, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
Monday, May 18, 2026 @ 5:00 PM is the deadline an absentee ballot can be requested to be mailed to a voter. Absentee ballots cannot be mailed to people who have not registered to vote. Unregistered voters may submit a completed voter registration form with their absentee ballot application if the completed forms will be received in the Auditor/Recorder’s Office by Monday, May 18, 2026 @ 5:00 PM. Persons registering to vote after Monday, May 18, 2026 @ 5:00 PM shall not be mailed an absentee ballot but may vote in person at the Marshall County Election Center until 4:30 PM on Monday, June 1, 2026 (or at their polling place on election day) upon providing proof of identity and residency. Voters may check the status of their absentee ballot by contacting the Marshall County Auditor/Recorder’s Office, or at http://sos.iowa.gov/elections/absenteeballotstatus/search.aspx.
WHERE TO GET FORMS
Voter registration forms, absentee ballot application forms, and information regarding documents acceptable to prove identification and residency, are available at the Marshall County Election Center 107 S 1st Ave, the Auditor’s Office 1 East Main St, 3rd Floor, or the Marshall County website https://elections.marshallcountyia.gov . The forms must be signed and dated. Mail or hand deliver requests forms to the Marshall County Auditor/Recorder’s Office at 1 East Main Street, Marshalltown, IA 50158. Request forms must be received in the Auditor’s Office by 5PM on Monday, May 18, 2026.

ELECTION RESULTS
Marshall County will be reporting their results to a single website hosted by the Iowa Secretary of State so that voters may see the combined results for all races. The link to that site will be posted on the home page of the Marshall County website: https://elections.marshallcountyia.gov. Results are not final until after Canvass. Canvass will be held on June 9, 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Marshall County Courthouse, Meeting Room 2, 3rd Floor, 1 East Main Street, Marshalltown, IA 50158.
